Tait Furniture specialise in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke furniture solutions, built to the highest standards and to individual customer requirement. The company was established by Murray Tait in 2004 and is located in Oakerthorpe, a small village nestling in the Derbyshire countryside.
All projects commissioned by Tait Furniture are made from raw materials and almost any design can be achieved. There are no restrictions with size or design as everything is made from scratch.
All of the designing, the manufacturing & the installation is done in house by Murray and his colleague David Wilson to ensure the highest level of workmanship is maintained. The work undertaken can range from a bookcase that needs to fit into an awkward alcove to a total house refit, which involves woodwork for the wardrobes, kitchen doors and joinery.
Having studied at Basford Hall College in Nottingham, Murray & David are City and Guilds qualified cabinet makers. Murray also has advanced City and Guilds qualifications in Cabinet Making and Industrial Studies & a BTEC Higher National Certificate in Furniture Studies at distinction level.
All projects begin with a home visit, allowing Murray to get a full understanding of what is required. From this visit, drawings are produced to allow the customer to visualise the proposed designs. Any adjustments to the designs are agreed on and final drafts are produced and from this a quotation is calculated. After the quotation is agreed upon, the customer will be given an estimated time for manufacturing, start dates & delivery/installation dates. Due to the bespoke nature of our work this is usually a guide but, if necessary, a fixed date can be agreed upon.
